If using fondant and is a little tacky, either dust a little corn flour on the acrylic rolling pin, rub in and tap the excess off or use a small amount of shortening or spray oil on your fingertips.
If using modelling clay, dust with a little talc powder on the acrylic rolling pin, rub in and tap the excess off. Roll as normal. Apply the same amount of pressure across the rolling pin, to achieve the same depth of pattern.
Stickiness will depend on air temperature and environment.
